About Interview with Sherry Hormann, director of Desert Flower

Cineuropa met up with the director Sherry Hormann, whose film Desert Flower has moved the audiences at the 2009 Venice Film Festival.
The film tells the true story of Waris Dirie, a Somali nomad who at age 13 escaped to London. She later became a top model, and then begun a tireless fight as a UN ambassador against female genital mutilation. Hormann explains how her feature reached the balance between comedian aspects and dramatic moments.
